Moderation Principles

Moderation protects the community and the people in it. The response depends on the behavior, its impact and the available evidence.

A response proportionate to the problem

Staff may remove content, give a warning or restrict access. Restrictions can be temporary or permanent. Serious threats, scams, privacy violations or repeated abuse can lead to stronger action without a series of warnings.

A warning is not permission to keep testing the same boundary. Context and repeated behavior matter.

Restrictions have a scope

A Website restriction applies to Website Account access. A Forum restriction applies to forum participation. A Game restriction applies to game access. A Global restriction explicitly covers more than one service.

An action on one service is not automatically an action on every service. The notice should identify the affected service and any duration that applies.

Keep the information needed for a review

Keep the moderation notice, relevant dates and the original context. Explain a possible mistake calmly and provide relevant evidence. Do not share another person’s private information or pressure people involved in the report.

The appeals channel is not open yet. Submission instructions will be published on this site when that channel is available. There is no appeal form on this page.

Do not evade a restriction

Creating another account or using someone else’s access to get around a restriction can lead to further action. A disagreement with a decision does not justify harassment or impersonation.
