Eclipse Legacy Game Rules

Eclipse Legacy is intended to be competitive, fair, and enjoyable for everyone. These rules apply to all game accounts, characters, Guilds, competitive activities, and game-related conduct.

Attempting to avoid a rule through an alternate account, another character, another device, another client, or a technical loophole does not make the conduct permitted.

1. Cheats, Hacks, and Gameplay Manipulation

Using cheats, hacks, injected code, memory editing, packet manipulation, speed hacks, damage hacks, teleport hacks, cooldown bypasses, or any other unauthorized tool or modification that manipulates gameplay is prohibited.

Penalty:

Permanent ban on the first offense.

There is no warning period for a confirmed cheating or hacking offense.

2. Botting

Software or scripts that independently play the game, fight, farm, loot, level, move, or otherwise perform gameplay without normal human control are prohibited.

Penalties:

First offense: 15-day ban.

Second offense: Permanent ban.

3. Macros and Gameplay Automation

Simple key remapping and legitimate accessibility macros are allowed.

A permitted macro must not independently play the game for the player.

Automated combat, automated farming, repeating gameplay loops, timed combat rotations, unattended gameplay, or other gameplay automation is prohibited.

Penalties:

First offense: 3-day ban.

Second offense: 15-day ban.

Third offense: Permanent ban.

Automated AFK farming is treated under this rule.

4. Multiboxing / Multiclient

Multiboxing and running multiple game clients is allowed.

Multiboxing does not permit a player to violate other rules.

Multiple clients may not be used to automate gameplay, manipulate rankings, win-trade, exploit event restrictions, abuse reward systems, or bypass a restriction that is specifically intended to apply per player or per participant.

5. AFK Activity

AFK vending, remaining logged in while standing idle, and other passive non-automated activity are allowed.

AFK combat, AFK farming, or other gameplay performed through automation is prohibited and follows the Macros and Gameplay Automation penalty ladder.

6. Account Sharing

Account sharing is allowed at the players' own risk.

If multiple parties knowingly and voluntarily share access to an account, Eclipse Legacy Staff does not guarantee recovery of items, currency, characters, or other losses resulting from that consensual sharing.

Sharing an account does not excuse any rule violation committed through that account.

Accounts may be exchanged for legitimate in-game resources.

Selling or buying an account for real-world value is prohibited and is treated as Real-Money Trading.

Staff does not guarantee, insure, or mediate ownership disputes arising from consensual account transfers or sharing.

7. Real-Money Trading

Buying or selling Eclipse Legacy accounts, items, currency, services, carries, rewards, or other game-related value for real-world value is prohibited.

Real-world value includes, but is not limited to:

cash, cryptocurrency, gift cards, external goods, external services, or other items of real-world value.

This applies to both buyers and sellers.

Penalty:

Permanent ban on the first offense.

8. Exploits, Bugs, and Duplication

Knowingly abusing a bug, exploit, duplication method, unintended mechanic, or technical vulnerability for personal or group benefit is prohibited.

Penalties:

First offense: 30-day ban.

Second offense: 90-day ban.

Third offense: Permanent ban.

A severe first offense may be escalated directly to a Permanent ban when the conduct causes, attempts to cause, or creates a substantial risk of serious economic damage, mass duplication, widespread distribution of an exploit, server instability, destructive technical abuse, or similar severe harm.

Discovering a bug or exploit is not itself a violation.

Players who privately report a bug, exploit, or duplication issue without using it for personal benefit will not be punished for making the report.

Staff may provide a reward for a responsible report at its discretion.

Using the issue for personal benefit before or while reporting it remains punishable.

9. Scamming

Intentional fraud, deceptive trades, fraudulent service offers, fake Staff requests, dishonest schemes, or other deliberate attempts to steal another player's legitimate game assets are prohibited.

Penalties:

First offense: Warning + 3-day ban.

Second offense: 30-day ban.

Third offense: Permanent ban.

Ordinary negotiation, bargaining, or listing an item at a high price is not automatically considered scamming.

If real-world value is involved, the conduct is treated as Real-Money Trading instead.

10. Gameplay-Altering Client Modification

Client modifications that manipulate gameplay, packets, memory, restrictions, game mechanics, or provide an unauthorized gameplay advantage are prohibited.

Penalty:

Permanent ban on the first offense.

Normal recording software, streaming software, non-manipulative overlays, and legitimate accessibility tools are allowed when they do not manipulate the game or automate gameplay.

11. Ranking Manipulation and Win-Trading

Manipulating rankings, competitive rewards, or competitive results is prohibited.

This includes, but is not limited to:

staged matches, dummy opponents, intentional feeding, damage padding, fake competitive clears, coordinated ranking manipulation, or organized reward manipulation.

Penalties:

First offense: 3-day ban.

Second offense: 15-day ban.

Third offense: 60-day ban.

Every additional offense after the third: 60-day ban, subject to the Six-Month Repeat-Offender Policy.

12. PvP Conduct and Abuse

Legitimate PvP is allowed.

Competition, rivalry, targeting another player, and legitimate PvP strategy are permitted when conducted within normal game mechanics.

PvP exploits, coordinated abuse, win-trading, protected-area exploitation, or other prohibited manipulation are not allowed.

Penalties for PvP abuse that is not more appropriately classified as another offense:

First offense: 3-day ban.

Second offense: 15-day ban.

Third offense: 30-day ban.

Every additional offense: 30-day ban, subject to the Six-Month Repeat-Offender Policy.

If the purpose of the conduct is to manipulate rankings or competitive rewards, it is handled under Ranking Manipulation and Win-Trading instead.

13. Staff Impersonation

Impersonating Eclipse Legacy Staff, Game Masters, Administrators, Developers, or the Owner is prohibited.

Penalties:

First offense: 10-day ban.

Second offense: Permanent ban.

14. Character Names and Guild Names

Character names and Guild names created with malicious intent are prohibited.

This includes names intended to:

impersonate Staff, maliciously impersonate another player, mislead players into believing an account or Guild is official, promote racism, contain severe abusive content, or contain intentionally harmful or hateful language.

Penalties:

First offense: 15-day ban.

Second offense: 45-day ban.

Third offense: Permanent ban.

Staff may also force, reset, or require the change of an offending name.

15. Threats, Doxxing, Extortion, and Severe Real-World Harassment

Credible threats, threats of real-world harm, doxxing, publication of private personal information, extortion, swatting threats, or comparable severe real-world harassment are prohibited.

Depending on severity, these violations may result in an immediate Permanent ban.

Ordinary disagreement or in-game rivalry is not automatically treated as a real-world threat.

16. Investigation Obstruction

Players must not intentionally obstruct a legitimate Staff investigation.

Examples include:

deliberately destroying relevant evidence, knowingly submitting fabricated evidence, coordinating false evidence, concealing serious exploit involvement, or continuing prohibited conduct after being instructed to stop.

Initial action:

Warning.

Continued or severe obstruction may result in a 30-day ban or Permanent ban, depending on severity.

17. False Reports and Fabricated Evidence

Good-faith reports are allowed even when Staff ultimately determines that no violation occurred.

Players will not be punished merely because a legitimate report cannot be proven.

Intentionally fabricated evidence, knowingly false accusations, coordinated attempts to frame another player, malicious report spam, or deliberate abuse of the reporting system is prohibited.

Penalties may include a warning, temporary suspension, or Permanent ban depending on severity and repetition.

18. Ban Evasion

Using another account, another character, another device, or other means to knowingly bypass an active punishment is prohibited.

Ban evasion may extend or escalate the original punishment and may result in Permanent bans on accounts proven to be used for evasion.

Sharing an IP address, household, device, or network with a banned player is not by itself proof of ban evasion.

19. Illegitimate Gains

Staff may remove, reverse, invalidate, or recover illegitimate gains connected to prohibited conduct.

This may include:

items, Penya, Perin, Red Chips, Blue Chips, Bounty Points, Stellar Coins, ranking rewards, PvP rewards, Colosseum rewards, Guild benefits, or other improperly obtained advantages.

Removal of illegitimate gains is corrective action and may occur in addition to the applicable disciplinary penalty.

20. Six-Month Repeat-Offender Policy

Confirmed disciplinary history is retained.

If a player commits the same or another punishable offense within six months of a prior confirmed offense, the new violation may result in a Permanent ban under the repeat-offender policy regardless of the ordinary penalty ladder for that violation.

After six months, the prior offense does not disappear from the player's history.

Staff may consider the age of the prior offense, the player's overall history, severity, intent, and circumstances when determining whether to issue the normal applicable punishment, a severe warning, a stronger suspension, or a Permanent ban.

21. Staff Discretion

The penalties listed in these rules are the standard enforcement guidelines.

Staff may increase the severity of a punishment when justified by factors including:

severity, intent, deliberate concealment, economic damage, number of affected players, coordinated activity, prior disciplinary history, attempted ban evasion, or other aggravating circumstances.

The reason for an increased punishment must be recorded internally.

Confirmed mandatory Permanent-ban offenses for Cheats/Hacks, Real-Money Trading, or gameplay-altering Client Modification are not to be reduced by ordinary moderation discretion.

A punishment may be overturned or reduced through the appeal/review process when the original finding was incorrect, evidence materially changes, or an authorized Administrator determines reconsideration is appropriate.

22. One Incident / Primary Offense Rule

One incident should normally receive one primary disciplinary classification.

When one act technically matches several rules, Staff should ordinarily use the most serious applicable offense rather than stacking several independent ban durations for the same conduct.

Separate acts, separate victims, continued conduct, or genuinely independent violations may be disciplined separately.

Corrective actions such as removal of illegitimate gains, forced renames, or ranking reversals may still accompany the primary punishment.

23. Evidence

Moderation decisions may rely on reasonably reliable evidence including:

server logs, transaction records, combat records, ranking records, game-system records, screenshots, video, player reports, and other relevant evidence.

A violation does not require video evidence when authoritative server data or other reliable evidence proves the conduct.

Knowingly fabricated evidence is itself prohibited.

24. Staff Accountability

Eclipse Legacy does not tolerate abuse of moderation authority.

Staff actions may be reviewed using logs, moderation records, evidence, and other available information.

A Staff member found abusing their position may:

lose moderation privileges, be removed from Staff, have their player account sanctioned, or receive a Permanent ban,

depending on severity.

Staff members are subject to the rules they enforce.
