Client Stability Hotfix

Version 0.9.19 delivers a targeted client stability correction addressing a memory-corruption issue discovered during the investigation of recurring game crashes. The issue was associated with player reports involving Ankou's Asylum.

Bug Fixes

  • Client Crash Correction — Investigations identified a problem in the client-side mouse-picking system.
  • Kaneki Hair (M), item 33627, contains a high-detail model with 10,193 vertices.
  • The client previously attempted to process this model using a reusable picking buffer sized for only 4,696 vertices.
  • When the model exceeded the available capacity, the client could write beyond the allocated buffer and corrupt adjacent memory.
  • This could eventually cause unexpected game crashes, including crashes occurring during unrelated gameplay operations.
  • Technical Correction — The mouse-picking buffer now expands as necessary to accommodate larger meshes. This prevents the identified buffer overflow when processing high-vertex cosmetic models.
  • Unchanged Functionality — No equipment statistics changed.
  • No cosmetic artwork changed.
  • No dungeon mechanics changed.
  • No database changes.
  • No native game server restart required.
  • Only the Neuz.exe client executable changed.
  • Release Information — v0.9.19 is LIVE. Release ID: S0-0019. Launcher sequence: 35.
  • How to Update — Follow these steps:
  • 1. Completely close Eclipse Legacy (Neuz.exe).
  • 2. Open the official Eclipse Legacy Launcher.
  • 3. Update to version 0.9.19.
  • 4. Launch the game normally.
  • Verification Note — The original crash was reproduced and the corrected implementation passed focused technical checks.
  • The release was successfully signed and published.
  • Post-publication gameplay confirmation from affected players remains pending.
